There are several enticing movies coming to theaters this fall and “Carol” starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara is on my short list. The film is an adaption of Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 novel “The Price of Salt” (she also penned “The Talented Mr. Ripley”) and tells the story of a lesbian love affair between a stylish socialite and a timid shop girl. Mara won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role and Blanchett’s 1950s New York wardrobe is beyond chic. If you like, you can watch the trailer here. “Carol” hits theaters November 20.
