I love this! I’ve always believed in fate, but I also believe that we create our own destinies. you reap what you sow kind of thing. Oprah… such a smart woman

Kirby — I’m with you. And love Oprah, I think she’s fabulous.
Haydee says
This is so true. When I was a teenager I wanted to work in this really cool store American Rag Cie. in LA so badly but was scared because I didn’t have any retail experience at all. It was funny because my friend’s dad owned it. So my parents simply encouraged me to call my friend Julian and tell him I wanted to work in their store and I did! From there I went to work for Georges Marciano and then Prada. So this quote truly hits home for me. Love this quote. Love Oprah.
Lauren (pen.ny) says
Of course that came from Oprah. God love that woman. I can’t even BARE the thought of her not being on air, so I’ll stop. Sigh.

Haydee—Prada?! My goodness you really worked you way up the ladder! Such a cool story. Oprah’s right, you just have to ask… XO
