Quick one: my husband and I are being transferred to Luxembourg for his job. I was curious: how has the transition from the US to the EU go for you? How did you manage transporting your pup, also? We have a goldendoodle we’re looking to get certified as a therapy dog so we don’t have to put her in cargo. I’m very nervous about how this will work out, so I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Cathy – I have been meaning to write more about the transition and promise to do more soon. In short, we love it! Denmark is a great country with a wonderful quality of life. I lived in Switzerland from age 18-20 so I was somewhat familiar with culture shock and life on the continent, but Scandinavia was still very new to us. I’ve only driven through Luxembourg, but it looks to be a lovely place—how fun for you! Definitely go the therapy dog route if you can. Alfred, our pug, is too tall to fit in a carrier under a seat, but pugs also can’t travel in cargo because of their breathing, so the therapy dog route was our only option to get him over here. I really am a nervous flier so I loved having him on my lap from Chicago to Copenhagen. Best of luck on your adventure!
