“The real truth is I probably don’t want to be too happy or content because, then what? I actually like the quest, the search. That’s the fun. The more lost you are the more you have to look forward to. So what do you know? I’m having a great time and I don’t even know it.” -Ally McBeal
This weekend I watched Ally McBeal for the first time ever. Netflix has all five seasons on instant play (dangerous!) and the show has me smiling ear to ear. I can’t help but relate to quirky, hopeless romantic Ally. Are you a fan?

I’ve never seen it, but now I know what I’ll be watching every night for the next few months! I’ve been wanting to see a fun, quirky series. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh yay! I am so glad you discovered her! I am 43 yrs old and LOVED Ally during my uni years. First it was Mary Tyler Moore – she was my dream strong female ..journalist..I wanted to be her when I grew up. Ally was more like me during uni..they are both similar and both are shows I watch on days I need to feel inspired by funny, creative and strong female characters! Glad you found her – she is a Matchbook girl!

It’s so good and a great guilty pleasure. Until you get to the fourth season and it goes downhill. Enjoy!

I have never seen it but now I am tempted! With no more Downtown, Nashville or Mad Men I would love something….

This post made me smile b/c I was such a fan of Allly McBeal in my early post-grad days of living with my best girlfriends. Love her!
I like to think ‘Good Wife’ is my grown up version (not a comedy, but enough little in-jokes and crazy personalities to have a little guffaw now and then).

I’ve never watched Ally McBeal, but I love Netflix! Perhaps this will be my summer show when all others are on hiatus. Thanks for the rec!

This was my mom’s favorite show when I was a kid. I was only allowed to watch a few minutes now and then, but I was convinced that because we had the same name (with a Y, no less) that I was going to grow up to be a lawyer! Thank god that didn’t last!

Ah! I wish you hadn’t shared this piece of news… although, half happy you did.
Spent most of my evening last night, reveling in the quirky 90s comedy, and Callista in her prime!
I have a feeling I know what I’m doing all week. Oops.
