My apologies for the lack of posts yesterday afternoon. We raced up to the bay area to look at an apartment and…we got it!!! The unit is part of a cute old home in Alameda, a small island in San Francisco’s east bay. The area is famous for its charming tree-lined streets and historic Victorian homes. We’ll be walking distance to the beach, a dog park for Alfred, and the adorable downtown district complete with an art deco movie theater built in the 1930’s. Plus the island is a very flat 12 square miles—ideal for bike rides (vintage Schwinn with a wicker basket, yes please)! We move in mid-July (one week before the wedding). It’s going to be a whirlwind, but I’m so happy and relieved everything is falling into place. Lots more posts to come today, but I just wanted to fill you in on the good news!
