Ever since devouring Bunny Mellon’s biography I’ve been obsessed with learning about gardening. There are some serious green thumbs in my family (my aunt Rachel has the most beautiful garden at her home in Berkeley, California), but I’m barely able to keep a houseplant alive. This year, I’m determined to change that. I’ve been reading up on gardening and adding supplies to my wish list. Never mind that I don’t have my own plot of land just yet—I’ll be starting indoors (baby steps!). Love these picks, Katie! I felt the same way after reading the Bunny Mellon biography! It didn’t help (or rather, did…) that I also read “The Brother Gardeners” by Andrea Wulf around the same time (which I also highly recommend)…my dad has an amazing green thumb, but alas, I struggle keeping even my airplants alive…but a girl can dream! (and continue to work at it!)
