Simon and I will be spending a few days in London before our Istanbul honeymoon, and I’m hoping to stop by this Alex Katz show at the Serpentine Galleries. Titled “Quick Light,” the show includes landscapes, cityscapes, and portraiture spanning decades of Katz’s career. His portraits of his wife, Ada, are always among my favorites (this book, which I own and treasure, sums up her chicness). Seen any great exhibits lately…? I’d love to hear!

I just saw a Katz exhibit here, in Atlanta, last summer. I love his work and the scale of it all.
My Mom and I will be traveling to NYC in a few months, and I’m bummed to be missing the Manus x Machina show at the Met. We will, however, drop by to see the Diane Arbus photos. Unfortunately, the weekend we’re visiting falls between a lot of exhibits around town. The Breuer has an interesting show coming up of unfinished pieces that looks fascinating.
There’s a great Walker Evans exhibit at the High in Altanta right now, along with a Carolina Herrera show at SCAD.
Otherwise, I’m dying to see the Oscar de la Renta retrospective in San Francisco. I missed it when it was here.
Outside of the States, the KAWS at the Yorkshire Scultpure Park could be really neat. And there’s a short-term showing of Banksy pieces in Rome…
My poor husband isn’t as big an art and museums fan as I am, so I’m reluctant to drag him to all these museums. It sounds like you and Simon share a mutual interest. Happy travels!
