One of my all-time favorite artists, Alex Katz, recently completed murals for the windows of Barneys New York and I’m a bit sad to miss them. Though the 87-year-old artist is known for his use of color, he stuck to black and white for the installation making for a sleek New York statement. The collaboration was arranged by the Art Production Fund and includes a limited-edition collection of home goods and gifts available exclusively at Barneys. I have my eye on the clutch and candle. I saw these the other weekend when I was in new york, they were wonderful. Such a great pop-up exhibit space, for everyone to see! I was inspired that Katz only used black and white; it is still clearly his same artistic hand and style, but I love that it is slightly ‘new.’
