I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to resist a sweet bumble bee motif. Whether it’s a collection of antique bee skeps in a potting shed (goals!) or a crystal honey pot on my spring table, I’m all about embracing the bumblebee. I recently ordered some darling children’s books for Gabe about honey bees and it got me thinking about just how many wonderful bee-themed pieces there are in the design world lately. Below, explore some of favorite buzzworthy (I had to…) finds.
14k Gold Movable Beehive Charm (Simon got me this for my charm bracelet a few years back and it always makes me smile!)
‘Florabunda Bee’ Block Print by Hugo Guinness
Bunny Williams Beehive Honey Pot (because you know I love some Bunny for Ballard!)
Bee Embroidered Pillow (part of Chelsea Textiles’ amazing sale!)
Regalis Tennessee Black Truffle Honeycomb
Bee Domed Paperweight by John Derian

When my lovely Australian expatriate in-laws celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, we had a large Aussie Barbie with their colleagues, friends and neighbors. One of the items that we served was my MIL’s homemade, Leatherwood Honey and macadamia nut ice cream. If you have never had leatherwood honey, it is an unusual pungent and smokey treat.
It was a simple treat that didn’t use an ice cream maker. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll dig up her recipe.
