On my travel bucket list…? The Mayflower Inn and Spa in Washington, Connecticut. The five-star resort was recently redecorated by Celerie of Kemble Interiors and the result is a colorful twist on American classics. I can’t get enough of the guest rooms which are covered in the most fabulous wallpapers (think Sister Parish stripes and Brunschwig & Fils’ Bird and Thistle!). Can’t wait for covid days to be over so I can hop on a plane!
A sweet corner in one of the guest rooms.
Love the bold color palette, scalloped sofa, and antique wicker chair.
A peek inside the opulent canopy bed.
The needlepoint sheep pillow is a playful touch of granny chic.
Love the small faux bois table.
Love the yellow walls in this sitting room.
Console table goals!
The room seems to almost glow, doesn’t it?
Paper flowers by The Green Vase.
Love what you see? Book a stay at the Mayflower here (and then report back so we can all live vicariously)! Enjoy!

Hi Katie,
I am so glad that you found the newly redecorated Mayflower. It was absorbed into the Auberge Resorts portfolio about two years ago and they set about finding someone to redecorate the already beautiful place. I think Celerie Kemble did a great job.
You might want to peek at another Auberge hotel recently opened in Austin, TX. The Commodore Perry Estate was reimagined by Ken Fulk. I love the results too. It is on the Auberge Resorts website too.
Thanks for a great post.

Hi Katie – I love your posts! Could you tell me where the wallpaper/mural (?) is from in the last shot? Silver grey leaves cascading over a green background, like nothing I have ever seen before? Celerie Kemble is a fav of mine!
thanks so much!!
