Today, I thought we’d admire the work of British artist and illustrator Susannah Garrod. I discovered her lovely work thanks to instagram and have been coveting one of her paintings ever since. From fashion illustration to lampshades to custom party invitations, the talented Central Saint Martins grad can whip up something memorable for any decor or occasion. Her style reminds me a bit of Andy Warhol’s whimsical drawings, so it was no surprise to read Susannah loves mid-century illustration. The artist’s impressive client list includes Tory Burch, Jo Malone, Harry Winston, and British Vogue (just to name a few!). I especially love her frequent ribbon and bow motifs. Shop select creations by Susannah in her online shop and below, explore more of her wonderful artwork.
This was the border of a fabulous wedding invitation she recently designed for a lucky friend.
A sweet floral illustration. I love allium, don’t you?
These ribbon place cards she did for an event are pretty much my favorite thing ever. Had I been a guest, I surely would have framed mine!
The artist shares my love of swans.
An invitation to a six-year-old’s birthday party. Can you even imagine? Again, I hope someone framed this!
The loveliest lily of the valley you ever did see.

The charming invitation she illustrated for the Matilda Goad pop-up shop.
Susannah’s playful gift wrap can be purchased in her online shop.
I love this fashion illustration she did of a pair of Charlotte Olympia sandals. Susannah cites artists Marcel Vertès (he did the fabulous murals in New York’s Café Carlyle) and Christian Berard as inspirations.
I would proudly hang this floral still life painting on my wall.
A fun advertisement for Susannah’s handmade and painted candle shades. Pink and red are always a great combo.
Wouldn’t this print by the artist make for the most fabulous wallpaper?

How fun is the envelope lining for the invite?! I’m sure it made all the guests smile. If you love Susannah’s work as much as I do, be sure to follow her on instagram here. Happy Monday, my dears!

I absolutely love Susannah Garrod; I actually treated myself to two of her face illustrations when I landed my job at Net-a-Porter last year (I always like to mark proud moments and life milestones with a special purchase) and I absolutely love them!
