For those that missed last night’s red carpet extravaganza, here are my top picks for 2018 Met Gala’s best dressed list. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was celebrating the new exhibition Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination (it opens to the public May 10). In keeping with the Catholic theme, the dresses often had an ethereal feel or religious undertones. Below, in no particular order, find my favorite looks of the star-studded evening.
Kerry Washington wore a gold Ralph Lauren Collection gown. I love its long sleeves and classic A-line cut. Her headpiece and jewelry were by Lorraine Schwartz.
Event host Anna Wintour looked timeless in a white Chanel gown.
Zoe Kravitz donned Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent. I love that her barely there gown was done in a granny chic lace. Plus, you know I love a bow. She also wore strappy heels and Jacob & Co. jewels.
Colin Firth and his wife, Livia Firth looked every bit the dapper duo. Livia wore a statuesque white Giambattista Valli gown.
Priyanka Chopra stunned in a burgundy velvet Ralph Lauren gown. I can’t wait to see what the actress (a close friend of Meghan Markle) wears to the royal wedding later this month!
Kate Bosworth looked like a ethereal bride in her ivory and gold Oscar de la Renta ballgown. Her lace-edged veil was the cherry on top.
Anne Hathaway sported a bold, red Valentino Haute Couture and pulled it off with confidence. I love her spiked gold headpiece.
Amanda Seyfried looked like an angel in her marigold yellow, empire waist Prada gown. Her loose blonde curls made her look like a Grecian goddess.
Michelle Williams can do no wrong in my book. Last night she wore a silver sequin Louis Vuitton column gown with studded sleeves and belt.
Anna Wintour’s daughter Bee Shaffer wore an absolutely gorgeous red Valentino gown (love the bow detail on the sleeve). She’s pictured here with her fiancé Francesco Carrozzini.
Sienna Miller wore a Louis Vuitton white top and champagne sequin skirt. The icing on the cake? The two glittering Fred Leighton star tiaras she wore together.
Frances McDormand’s look wins for the colors alone. She wore a Valentino Haute Couture sea-green cape over a chartreuse gown and headpiece by Philip Treacy.
Naomi Watts looked timeless in her white and gold Michael Kors.
Last but certainly not least, Amber Heard looked magical in her red Carolina Herrera turtleneck column gown (love the bow at the back). Her jewelry was by Jennifer Meyer and Dean Davidson. Her gold halo headpiece looked fabulous. Elon Musk was probably second guessing his love life.
