I may not have been able to watch the Oscars last night (time change woes), but I most certainly had my eye on the red carpet. Below, in no particular order, I’ve rounded up my very favorite looks of the evening. Anyone you think I missed? Above, Jennifer Lawrence looking like an absolute goddess in Dior.
Timothée Chalamet looked every bit the dapper golden boy in Berluti. Love anyone that looks classic while still taking a bit of a chance. He succeeded.
Lupita Nyong’o stunned in custom Atelier Versace. I could have done without the dress’ diagonal embellishment (I’m a bit of a minimalist when it comes to dressing), but regardless, she looked like a million bucks.
Saoirse Ronan looked lovely in Calvin Klein, Cartier jewelry, and Christian Louboutin pumps. The pink gown was darling and age appropriate for the 23-year-old.
Sally Hawkins was beaming in her Armani Privé. I would have preferred the gown in a warmer hue (perhaps an emerald green?), but she pulls off the silver with panache.
Armie Hammer was a stud muffin in Giorgio Armani. Love velvet this time of year.
Allison Williams looked timeless in Armani Privé and Brian Atwood shoes. A timeless, safe choice for the evening.
Meryl Streep always looks radiant. Last night she sported Christian Dior Haute Couture, a Christian Louboutin bag, and Stuart Weitzman shoes. The 68-year-old’s skin is spectacular—wish I knew her secret.
Phoebe Waller Bridge was full of old world charm in simple, feminine Vionnet gown. She reminded me of a modern day Lady Mary Crawley.
Gal Gadot looked like she walked off the page of The Great Gatsby in Givenchy and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The flapper style dress was a bit costume-y, but still chic and fun.
Zendaya looked like a goddess in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, Bvlgari jewelry and Brian Atwood shoes. I love the rich hue of her dress.
Laura Dern looked statuesque in crisp, white Calvin Klein. Sleek and chic.
Lakeith Stanfield was looking sharp in Ermenegildo Zegna. I love a man in a navy tux.
Last but not least, Zoey Deutch was simple and chic in Elie Saab Couture and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The loose wave in her hair earned her bonus points.

I loved how much fun Rita Moreno was having while recycling the dress she won an Oscar in for West Side Story fifty something years ago! I also loved the sunshine yellow dressers I saw (Greta Gerwig, Eiza Gonzalez) and Alison Janet bringing the drama in her red gown.
Katie Armour says
Jamie – Googling this Rita Moreno gown now!

I have no idea who Phoebe Waller Bridge is, but that Vionnet gown is perfection!
Alison says
I loved Viola Davis! She always shows up with perfection in both color and fit. I’m sure there is some rule about not wearing Barbie pink when you’re over 50 but the rules do not apply to magnificent Viola.
Also, I liked Saoirse’s overall look but thought the dress missed a little. People immediately saw shades of Gwyneth, which makes sense because of the shade of pink and because it is Calvin Klein, but I couldn’t help but notice that this dress also had fit problems just like GP’s. It needed to be either looser or tighter at the bust but no woman wants her torso to look like a rectangle…

Jennifer Garner looked absolutely stunning! The blue was amazing but I cannot find the name of the designer who did that dress. Do you have any idea?
Katie Armour says
Kelli – I don’t think I saw Jennifer?! Will google now. Love blue!
Alison – True that Viola can pull of just about anything!
