MODERN LOVERS: If you liked The Vacationers, then you’re bound to enjoy Emma Straub’s upcoming novel Modern Lovers. The story of a tight-knit group college friends that have grown up and settled in Brooklyn, looks like the perfect summer beach read.
CAFE SOCIETY: Woody Allen’s latest film opened in France this past week (I’m having so much fun in Paris with my mom! More on that later…). Jesse Eisenberg stars as a young Bronx native in the 1930s that moves to glittering Hollywood. Blake Lively, Steve Carell, and Kristen Stewart also star in the film. You can the trailer here.
SFMOMA: After a two-year, $365 million renovation, the SFMOMA has reopened and I’m eager to see it in person. At first glance I can’t say I love the new look, but I’m sure the space is something to be experienced. Have you visited yet? Curious to hear what everyone thinks!
DR. SCHOLL’S FOR J.CREW: If you sported Dr. Scholl’s slides growing up (me!) then you’ll love the brand’s new collaboration with J.Crew. From the glitter pair above to a super chic white lacquer option, they’re the perfect summer sandal.

Oh the book sounds great! You know, while I’ve rarely missed a Woody Allen movies, I think Ronan Farrow’s piece in the Hollywood Reporter, I think I’m going to skip this one (the graphic design of that poster is incredible though).

Hi! Yes, the new SFMOMA is a must-see (and I’m not just saying that because I am a member and volunteer ;-) )!. What you’re looking at there is the back of the building. The front facade is a bit more traditional and the inside is enormous– seven stories of bright, white, spacious galleries filled with stunning pieces of modern art. Just give yourself plenty of time to take it all in. Each floor will take you about an hour to get through.

Jordana – Aren’t they sweet?! Glad you like them!
Lauren – I read it as well and almost didn’t post about the film because I feel so conflicted about it all. I’m glad you said something. I haven’t seen the film yet and will be giving it all more thought.
Carrie – You have me so excited to see the space now! Hoping to get to SF sometime soon!

I’m conflicted about the movie as well. I really do love his movies (Midnight In Paris is a favorite) but I read the Ronan Farrow interview also. Looking forward to reading Modern Lovers. I really like The Vacationers up until the end. I felt like it wrapped up a little too perfectly. Thanks for the great recommendations!
