Okay, so if you follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram you’ve already seen this pic, but on the chance you didn’t I simply had to share :) I found him at a boutique in Berkeley this morning and he’s officially the Armour family’s first Christmas ornament. Let the collecting begin!
How do you decorate your tree? Do you have a theme? I’m trying to decide whether to buy ribbons, garlands, bulbs…? Help!

Perfect! We decorate ours with found ornaments over the year that mean something to us, for the most part. I think it makes it more fun to unwrap them come Christmas because they remind you of different times of your life. My moms tree has ornaments on it that we collected as kids 20+ years ago, and even though I’m almost 30, I still love looking at them all and remembering. It’s a fun tradition, but of course you may need some fillers for a while until you can collect enough.

Since I moved to NYC, and can’t store a bunch of ornaments, I have used my great grandmother and grandmother’s brooches and clip on earrings. They look so pretty sparkling against white lights, and they fill my apartment with memories from the past.

I’ve been collecting adorable Crate&Barrel ornaments the budget-friendly way. I always go the day after Christmas and buy a few. They have so many cute ornaments and a huge variety.
On another note, I didn’t know if you’d seen the Kate Spade “Matchbook Bon Shopper.” It is so precious and made me think of you.

A tree that evolves is the best —- but you can never go wrong with vintage ornaments! And these days they are doing lots of reproductions!
BTW, I decorated my first tree with Larry with one White dove ornament (still have it) and lots of ribbon bows. Our apartment was so small it almost took up the whole room!

Very cute! I’m trying to guess from the newspaper text when it was made. I see Sean Bean and sword fight, so I’m guessing Lord of the Rings timeframe?
