I love when I learn about new San Francisco bay area treasures and Berkeley’s Gilman Village is certainly one of them. I’ve written about my obsession with Trove before (designer furnishings like John Robshaw at 40 – 70% off!) and now the shopping destination has opened a Pop-Up Shop (open until December 24th) with a revolving collection of goodies for the holidays. I have my eyes on the lovely horn utensils (chic, affordable hostess gifts!) and chic “tortoise” cuffs. There is also Ethnic Arts (goodies from places like Mexico, India and Peru), a stylish local art gallery called Show Place Art and T-Rex BBQ (bound to be Mr. Armour’s favorite). I can’t wait to head over after Thanksgiving to finish up my shopping. I think Alfred needs a lion piggy bank for Christmas ; )

Missing Berkeley terribly! Always great shopping on College Ave, from Elmwood (my neighborhood) to Rockridge. Not to mention 4th St. Love the vast array of well edited items offered at this pop up shop. Pondering a trip to the bay area before next year, this is good incentive.

Getting ready to make a trip out west to visit family in the Bay Area. Any suggestions for other off the beaten path/not so touristy places to visit?
