Would you believe me if I told you none of these stunning bouquets would ever wilt? It’s true! Now I’m a fan of fresh blooms, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes when a client simply doesn’t have the time required to constantly purchase and nurture fresh flowers you need to look into other options. That’s where Diane James Home comes in. Her faux floral arrangements are so believably real in appearance they are the go-to source for top designers such as Michael Smith, Celerie Kemble, Mario Buatta, and many more. Diane studied floral techniques under Lady Pulbrook, “the doyenne of English design,” while living in Europe and eventually began using faux flowers in the 1990’s as a solution for clients’ vacation homes. Brilliant right? For a black thumb like myself, it’s true love.
Oh and be sure to check out The Buzz, the Diane James Home blog written by one of her lovely twin daughters, Carolyn. It’s a treasure trove of info about floral and decorating history—one of my daily reads!

Absolutely beautiful! I think my mother ruined fake flowers for me by having WAY too many in the house as I was growing up, but these nearly tempt me to reconsider.

Carolyn — I spent a good hour yesterday drooling over your website—it was hard to narrow it down to 8 bouquets for this post! So happy to write about things I love! XO
Brandi — I think you must reconsider, I mean, how does one resist never-wilting peonies?! XO

I love the idea of having some very believable faux-flowers in my home. I would get a fragrance spray and regularly spray them! Such a soft way to add some color.

These are lovely and look perfectly real… but somehow the whole point of flowers for me is that they WILL die! That’s what makes them special. So I think to myself, I’d better enjoy them before they do! Maybe I could change my mind, I don’t know…
