How I love a spot of leopard! Animal prints are some of my favorite patterns and leopard specifically owns a large chunk of my heart. When used or worn tastefully (i.e. in small doses), leopard can make a perfectly chic statement without being garish. From the leopard pillows in Elsie de Wolfe’s Villa Trianon to the pair of spotted shorts in Peter Som’s recent collection, designers throughout the centuries have held a particular affection for the print. Robert Kime once said Parisian antique dealer Madeleine Castaing “pretty much had it all figured out—leopard carpet looks good anywhere.” I couldn’t agree more! In fact, Castaing’s country home at Leves is brimming with leopard and is one of my all time favorite interiors (get a glimpse below).
