We’re back from our trip to Virginia and the Carolinas and it was a complete whirlwind! Here are some pictures I snapped of the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Virginia. My apologies they aren’t sharper—it began to rain and all I had on me was my iPhone…such is life. Anywho, Charlottesville is the most charming town and the university grounds are stunning. When we walked around the Rotunda (above) and looked out on the great lawn I truly felt as though we’d stepped back in time! UVA was, in fact, built by Thomas Jefferson in 1819 and is the only American university to have been designated a World Heritage Site. I loved the contrast of the historic architecture surrounded by young students consumed with their modern, bustling lives. Enjoy the photos—more on the trip to come!

UVA is amazing..second only to my alma mater, Elon University in North Carolina. While smaller and less historically rich, Elon has the same beautiful white and brick. Plus, UVA and Elon are two of the only schools where sundresses and bowties are required for sporting events.
