Have you heard? There’s a new book out about Coco and it has a whole new spin. She’s even smiling on the cover! The book entitled “Mademoiselle” is a collection of photographs taken by Douglas Kirkland on location in Paris in 1962 for American magazine Look. The text is written by the head of Coco’s now century-old fashion house, the one and only Karl Lagerfeld. The book serves to reveal the “sympathetic character beneath the hard-working fashion doyenne’s ever-impeccable exterior” and the smiling images shown here seem to accomplish just that. The shots include Coco leaving her suite at the Ritz Hotel, her apartment and studio at 31 rue Cambon and of course, the apartment’s famous mirrored staircase. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy!
