Counting down the days till the Festival of Lights? Hanukkah begins Sunday December 2 this year–less than three weeks away! Below, I’ve rounded up my favorite pieces for the Hanukkah table, as well as some fun gifts for members of the tribe. As I’ve share in the past, I’m so thankful to my husband Simon for having brought this tradition into my life (and teaching me about my own Jewish roots!). Above, a fabulous Star of David Bundt Pan. Enjoy!

Hi Katie! Hope you’re well! I’m relatively new to your blog, but I’ve gathered over the past year or so that Simon is Jewish and you have a Catholic background? Correct me if I’m wrong… :)
My husband and I are protestant, but this year we’ve been learning more about all of the Jewish festivals and feasts and we are aiming to observe Hanukkah this year. While we don’t plan to partake in the gift-giving aspects, I am wondering if you would mind sharing any special Hanukkah traditions that you particularly enjoy. Maybe a prayer that is said or a favorite recipe made – anything, really!
Thank you so much! Loving all the gift-guides… they are so thoughtful :)

Neale – You’re right! Simon is Jewish and I was raised Catholic (though my dad is Jewish). I’ve learned more about Judaism in the last four years than I knew in my entire life! Hanukkah is such a special time. For us, it revolves around eating! Fried foods especially—jam filled doughnuts, potato pancakes, and homemade applesauce. We also try to exchange a small gift each of the eight nights. I hope this helps. Lucky to have thoughtful readers like you!
