“I love New York, even though it isn’t mine, the way something has to be, a tree or a street or a house, something, anyway, that belongs to me because I belong to it.”
Truman Capote
Have I really been living in New York for six full weeks?! I’m still walking around like a starry-eyed tourist. Recent highlights have included brunches at Cafe Sabarsky and The Plaza with two darling girls I met on Instagram (no really, and they’re going to be life-long friends!), brunch at Tipsy Parson (oh dear, that’s a lot of brunch…), a stunning Lulu Frost presentation at the The Carlyle, countless jaunts across Central Park for fashion week festivities, thrift shopping in the East Village with my adorable little brother, lunch at the Core Club with my wonderful friend Lynn, the “Regarding Warhol” press preview at The Met (pieces by Peyton, Currin, Katz, Richter…!), several exciting Matchbook photo shoots, and so much more. I just feel so inspired and so thankful to be here. Dear Manhattan, please never take this silly excitement away. Yours truly, Katie Armour

Aw Katie, I’m so excited for you that you’re back in New York… or was it Chicago that you were in before SF? Anyway, your excitement is infectious :)

I live right across the river on the Jersey side (and have my entire life) so I spend a lot of time in New York, but seeing your pictures on Instagram has given me silly excitement about how there’s always something new to see or different to experience in NY!! Thanks for sharing. Love the mag and your blog.

Kathyn – I purchased most my frames from Aaron Brothers in California. Super affordable, especially when paired with pre-cut mats. Hope this helps! :)

New York is so lovely! I was just there a couple weeks ago (unfortunately before the NYFW madness) and am still in a state of star struck! Glad you had such a great time!

Dearest Katie,
I adore this post and your starry-eyed wonderment at New York (I am just delighting in seeing the city through your eyes). And if it is at all reassuring, I moved to England nearly 4 years ago and I still have that same rose-tinter wonderment; everytime I ride my bike through the cobbled streets of Cambridge, or remember to look up in London, I’m struck by the charms of these magical cities that I appreciate all the more for not having grown up there.
