Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up at the V&A
London’s Victoria & Albert Museum has a new Frida Kahlo exhibition that opened June 15 and looks absolutely brilliant. The show gives an intimate look into the life of the Mexican art icon and displays objects from her everyday life (including several beautiful fashion pieces) that have never before been seen outside Mexico. I so admire Frida’s bold personal style and can’t wait to visit the exhibit when I’m in London next month!
MDS Summer Collection
Interior designer Mark Sikes’ fashion brand, MDS Stripes, has released a chic summer collection and I’m loving the preppy palette and sweet details. From eyelet dresses (I have my eye on this one) to plaid tops, there’s something for everyone. I always love the MDS Stripes lookbooks because they’re often photographed in homes Mark has decorated (how lovely is the kitchen below?). The new collection can be shopped at the MDS Stripes site as well as at Shopbop, Net-A-Porter, and Moda Operandi.
Salvesen Graham for Jennifer Manners
The stylish gals behind London-based interior design studio Salvesen Graham have collaborated with bespoke rug designer Jennifer Manners and the result is charming to say the least. The flatwoven rug they’ve designed together has the sweetest scalloped edge and a double-border that adds a playful pop of color. How gorgeous does it look styled in the Salvesen Graham designed rooms below? Love anything traditional with a twist! I’ve already added the rug to my decorating wish list.
Looking to up your slipper game? I’m crushing on the feminine designs by San Francisco-based slipper company Birdies. While their latest pom pom design is sure to be a crowd pleaser, I’m also coveting a pair of their classic leopard loafer style. Explore all of their chic slipper designs here.
Do you have a pair of Birdies or a piece by MDS Stripes that you love? Any exciting new happenings I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments below!
