Since moving to Europe two years ago and traveling to Morocco, Turkey, India, and Japan (still pinching myself), my love of textiles has soared to new heights. We’re returning to Istanbul for my birthday in late March and I can’t wait to fill my luggage with more fabrics. One of my favorite textile designers is Nathalie Farman-Farma of Décors Barbares (previously Tissus Tartares). Nathalie was born in California, raised in France, attended high school and college in the U.S., and now calls London home. Her dreamy Chelsea townhouse has been widely published in magazines and was included in the gorgeous book, Haute Bohemians. The interior reflects the designer’s love of Persian, Central Asian, and Russian folk traditions and her instagram account is one of my favorites to follow. Someday, I hope to incorporate Décors Barbares fabrics (all meticulously screenprinted in France) into my home. Below, explore more of Nathalie’s lovely textile designs.
