My favorite part of any award show is the red carpet and last night’s 2017 Emmys did not disappoint. This morning, I thought I’d share my votes for best dressed. Anyone you think I missed? Pictured above is The Crown’s Claire Foy stealing the show. I love that she daringly sported a jumpsuit (get a similar look here) and still managed to look timeless. I’m also feeling the finger waves in her bob which added to the look’s old Hollywood glamour. Check out more of my 2017 Emmys favorites below.
Michelle Pfieffer stunned in Oscar de La Renta. I am all about the lace detail of this dress! The flattering long sleeves and A-line cut have Pfieffer looking smoking (can you believe she turns 60 next year?! #goals).
Yara Shahidi was an ethereal beauty in a Prada gown and Paige Novick jewelry. The color of the dress is gorgeous with her skin tone and I love that the sequins offer a pop of color.
Gillian Anderson (my husband’s celebrity crush) did the velvet trend justice in this stunning burgundy gown. The column cut has her looking long and lean and I love the short sleeves. The beauty turns 50 next year!
Priyanka Chopra made head turns in this bejeweled Balmain gown. It reminds me of a regal white peacock. I love the beading detail flowing into the feathered plume. Her sleek hair was a smart move—a dress like this should do all the talking.
Emmy Rossum hit a classic note in this sparkling Zac Posen gown. The emerald cocktail ring and earrings were the perfect cherry on top (get the look here, here, and here). Also, her glamorous curls look flawless and were perfect for the strapless ensemble. On another note, did you know Zac Posen has a cookbook coming out?
Kiernan Shipka—could she be any more darling?! This sparkly goddess Miu Miu gown was flattering and age appropriate for the young starlet (she’s only 17!). Sweet, yet chic. Also, her eyebrow game is so strong.
Susan Sarandon can do no wrong in my book. This column gown looked magnificent and hugged her in all the right places! How is she 70 years old?! Magic.
Millie Bobby Brown looked like a little ballerina in Calvin Klein. At first glance I thought the tutu skirt was a bit much, but given that she’s only 13 years old, it’s darling.
Sarah Paulson made a bold move in this silver Carolina Herrera gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. I love the texture of the dress. Space age chic.
Madeline Brewer killed it with a red lip. She’s so gorgeous she could make a garbage bag look chic, but I thought this revealing gown was particularly flattering. Also love her dark manicure, Wicked is my favorite color for fall.
Angela Sarafyan looked vibrant in this neon hued Elizabeth Kennedy gown. A bold choice and with her gorgeous olive complexion, I think she pulled it off.
Thandie Newton was simple and chic in a Jason Wu gown. I would have liked to see it in a bolder color, but it still made my “best dressed.” Would love to hear your thoughts on these looks and any others that caught your eye! Who got your best dressed vote?
Katie ~ spot on picks! You could have a career as a fashion reviewer. Your descriptions are so, well, descriptive! I agree with all your picks. Loving the return to old-world glamour and chic lady-like dresses {and one amazing jumpsuit}.
Phyllis – Glad I’m not the only one that loved the jumpsuit! Hope your week is off to a great start!
i am constantly obsessed with kiernan shipka! (plus her name is just the coolest) another major win for her – gorge!!
Lara – She’s the cutest, agreed! xx
