I don’t know how I missed the fact that last September, Gucci photographed a campaign in Tony Duquette’s legendary former residence, Dawnridge. Starring the dashing Tom Hiddleston, the malachite and leopard-filled Beverly Hills photo shoot is every maximalist’s dream. Today, the estate is owned by Tony’s former business partner, Hutton Wilkinson (his books about the late Duquette are brilliant). Gucci’s granny-chic-loving creative director Alessandro Michele clearly shares Duquette and Wilkinson’s affinity for the bold and fantastical.
