I’m going through a serious maximalist phase again (Marie Kondo, I’ve failed you…) and the interiors of Texas decorator Cathy Kincaid are a current inspiration. I especially admire the bedrooms she’s designed—always classic with a bit of colorful flair. My suggestions for channeling Cathy’s traditional style in your own home? Consider folding a cashmere throw, kantha quilt, or vintage suzani at the foot of your bed. Invest in monogrammed linens (start with a pair of euro shams or guest towels). Embrace pattern (especially on the walls) and consider using the same print throughout the room. Renting? Consider removable wallpaper. Hang vintage plates as wall decor (these adhesive hangers are brilliant). Place a pair of matching table lamps on either side of the bed and consider a statement lantern for the ceiling. Lastly, add a hint of country with a faux bois mirror. Hope your found these tips helpful! Explore more of Cathy’s stunning designs below.

That blue room, wow! I love that you are embracing your phases in a time where everyone else is striving to be a minimalist. Good for you for staying true to yourself. My husband is endlessly making fun of me for my phases! And we’ve been together since I was 16, so he’s seen them all.
