I hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday! I’d love some advice — I just booked a quick trip to Stockholm, Sweden early next week (I’m staying at the super chic Miss Clara, so excited!) and I’d love to hear your recommendations on where to eat, shop, tour, etc. My goal is to experience the best art, design, and dessert the city has to offer. Any suggestions…? I’m of Swedish heritage (grandpa was 6’6″…), but I’m embarrassed to say I know very little about it. Thank you in advance! Can’t wait to share all my favorites with you upon my return!

The best modern art is at “Fotografiska” and “Moderna Museet”, best evening stroll is by “Skeppsholmen” and the best brunch is at Hotel Diplomat or Pom and Flora. For typical swedish fashion, visit COS, NK, ACNE and other stores around the Stureplan area. And don’t forget your umbrella, the spring weather can tend to be quite ambivalent… hope you’ll have a great time here :)

Ah! Stockholm is just about at the top of the cities I dream of visiting. I’ve always been fascinated by Sweden (starting with Kirsten Larson, American Girl, ha). I can’t wait to see your pics and see your recommendations!
Katie Armour says
Micaela – A friend was raving about it just yesterday. Will be sure to check it out! xo
Jamie – Your American Girl reference is amazing…I forget Kirsten was from Sweden! I begged for a Samantha for years and my parents refused to get me one?! Still scarred. Will be sure to report back on all things Stockholm! xx

i totally fell in love with Stockholm! I was focused on Home Interior trend.
the main ‘must do’ for Home shopping is Svensk Tenn – stunning in every single way and you must have lunch there in the tea room its perfection
There is so much great design there and it seemed to me that the majority of the stores carried similar lines
I also like the area called Sodermalm /SOFO, this area had a more independant vibe, try ‘Grandpa ‘ & 654 & K17
The area called Gamla Stan (old Town) is visually lovely but very touristy. A couple nice stores there –

Hi Katie!
Have a great time in Stockholm! I visited Stockholm nearly 10 years ago with my study abroad with Bard College. I highly recommend Nationalmuseum, Moderna Museet, Vasa Museum, and Skansen (outdoor museum) if it’s nice weather or a future trip this summer. For a history of local culture, check out the Nordiska Museet which includes craft, dress and decorative arts. City Hall is also a nice stop and you can wall up the tower to see a great view of the city. Stop by Bukowski’s auction house which always has a great selection of beautiful decorative arts, particularly Swedish objects.
I think you’re already familiar with this one, but definitely visit Svenskt Tenn for the beautiful fabrics, pewter, and acrylic trays! They have opened a tea room, so perhaps see if you need to call ahead for tea.
For fashion, there are lots of cool Swedish designers. I visited Anna Holtblad on Grev Turegatan 13 and she has amazing knitwear. Acne Studios head offices are in Stockholm and I’ve heard they have an outlet too. Also, I bought several lipsticks at Face Stockholm (which go well with my pale complexion!), and I’ve been wearing it ever since!
Cute cafes on Gamla Stan near the town square and not far from the Nobel Museum.
I’ll let you know if I think of other things! I need to get back to Stockholm soon! I love seeing your Copenhangen photos and hope you’re having a wonderful time getting settled there.
