If you share my love of natural curiosities you’ll surely admire fashion designer Andrea Pompilio’s Milan apartment. Photographed by The Selby, the Italian abode is brimming with unusual treasures from bold malachite ashtrays to subtle shagreen boxes. I’m a sucker for a minimal backdrop layered with warm, textured accents and this apartment balances the mix with enviable flair. Inspiration for my new Chicago apartment!
How I’d channel Andrea’s handsome style:

The turtle shell totally reminds me of my pet turtle snappy! I wish his shells looked that pretty. I love how each piece adds it’s own story to the overall concept of the space.

Love it! It’s like living in the Field museum :)

I personally think those things look better in nature where they belong – and that no creature’s life should be taken for decorating purposes (including coral – any human contact can destroy entire coral ecosystems, upon which hundreds of species are dependent).

Beautiful apartment. Are you familiar with designer Alexander Lamont? He does gorgeous textured shagreen chop boxes, rock crystal vessels and so many other elegantly textured items that would be right at home in an apartment like Andrea’s.
