I often stroll past Bunny Mellon’s Upper East Side townhouse en route to Central Park. It’s a stunning home at 125 East 70th Street and consumes more than 11,000 square feet. I’ve always admired the upper patio and its latticework visible from the street below. Banking heir Paul Mellon and his horticulturist wife Bunny (fun fact: she helped her friend Jacqueline Kennedy with the White House Rose Garden) built the home in 1965 and it’s just been listed by Sotheby’s Realty for a staggering $46 million. Can you even imagine?! The listing provides a rare peek inside and a view of the outdoor space I’ve always admired. It will be most interesting to see what it sells for — a girl can dream!

I cannot believe this is in NYC-and quite close to me, it sounds like. I haven’t noticed it before (how that is possible, not sure). That is completely amazing/insane. It looks like a home from California or something. I’m definitely going to make it a point to stroll past it very soon!
