These darling envelopes made from a vintage copy of Ludwig Bemelmans’ classic “Madeline’s Christmas” tug at my heart strings. Wouldn’t they make for the most original touch to your Christmas letters? I recently spilled a cup of coffee all over one of my treasured Eloise books. Perhaps I shall use the few surviving pages for some envelopes of my own ;)
She was not afraid of mice, she loved winter, snow and ice!
I love Madeline, almost as much as I love Eloise- getting a letter in an envelope made from either one would be such a treat!
Oh I love Madeline! These are adorable.
Oh, I love! I try to recycle every scrap of pretty paper (whether from old calendars, pretty cards I receive, etc.) in some form or another. This is a such a great idea.
Aww love these! So special to send to a niece or little sister as well :)
Love these, so charming!
Thanks Katie! I went straight to the etsy site and purchased these beauties. I’m so excited to get them in the mail!

Cassy – Yay! I’m so glad you bought them. Can you even imagine the look on your friends’ faces when they pull your Madeline letters out of the mailbox? Such fun!
These are amazing! I love Madeline! I can not imagine pulling one of these beauties out of the mailbox…or slipping one in!
That is super cute!
Hi Katie,
It is so nice to see you posting again! I am sure you are too busy with Matchbook, but I miss the Neo Trad.(it is so hard to keep up with all of the things to read these days — sometimes short blog posts are just what the doctor ordered.). And I love these envelopes too–super cute. Hope all is well.
All best,
Lynn
I love these!

Ah, how Madeline and Eloise bring back memories. I think I’m going to have to stop at the used book store on my block this weekend and see if they have any nostalgic bargains that are worthy of envelopes.
For a little more Eloise reminiscing: http://www.cotewrites.com/blog/2010/09/lilies-and-eloise-at-the-plaza/

These bring me back to my childhood. I adore them! I think this is such a fabulous idea and I might have to try and make a few with some of the books I own.
