The brilliant Anna Spiro of Absolutely Beautiful Things recently shared these photos of one of her (and my!) favorite quotes in a pretty white frame. “Arrange whatever pieces come your way” — Virginia Woolf. Isn’t the script just lovely? It reminds me of how much I miss my Quote of the Day feautre—I think I’ll have to remedy that tomorrow morning! Which famous quote would you frame in your home? I think I may need to frame Oscar Wilde’s quip “With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?” because it reminds me to be thankful.

Lovely! I need to make a couple frames quotes for myself! I love that script! Do you know where we might be able to purchase the font? Or is it hand written?
Katie Armour says
Amber — My guess is that it was hand lettered, but if I find out otherwise I’ll certainly let you know!

Twoellie has my favorite quote on her blog today (have you met her…she is adorable).
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when we grow up.” Pablo Picasso
I had this framed in my Art Room…now it is in my son’s room.

Such a cute idea Katie!
I just might have to frame this:
Please send me your last pair of shoes, worn out with dancing as you mentioned in your letter, so that I might have something to press against my heart. – Goethe
It reminds me how lucky I am to be in love.

I LOVE that quote. Finding things come at you much more often than you come at them, it is such a great approach to life.
I would so put …
“A young woman has young claws, well sharpened. If she has character, that is. And if she hasn’t so much the worse for you.”
-Henri Matisse
in a womens small powder room for entertaining. So every time over-served guests read it while reapplying their lipstick they would emerge a little more clever and confident. (All the more better for cocktail conversation, haha)
Stephylou says
That script is beautiful, my quote would be “there’s more to life than books you know, but not much more” Morrisey
Jane Schott says
Wonderful script…brilliant quote.
Teresa says
Lovely, too lovely!
All details on that pictures are dreamy – the big frame, all the whiteness against the handwritten black, the eccletic table, the books promissing havens inside, the promissed scent of candles…
What a wonderful way to kick the day, isn’t it?!

“Allowing yourself to be happy is one of the greatest joys of the world” – my dad.
He wrote this to me on inside flap of the “Vera Wang on Weddings” coffee table book. One of my absolute greatest treasures now that he has passed away. I’ve been meaning to get the letter in calligraphy and framed – thanks for reminding me!

Beautiful! It’s a shame Virginia Woolf’s name is spelled wrong, though.
Katie Armour says
Jenny — You are the FIRST person to point this out! Too funny…I paused when I first saw it thinking “is there really an ‘e’ at the end,” but didn’t bother to check! I corrected it in my post… : )
