You know I love a good makeover and this etagere scooped up from Goodwill by Eddie Ross is positively gorgeous! It cost a mere $75 and just look what you can do with a bit of styling! I especially adore the faux bamboo detail, charming little finials and lovely aged brass finish. The icing on the cake? The handsome white horse bookends are from my vintage shop, Katie Armour Home. Looking good Eddie ; )
How do you style your bookshelves? With books, objects or both?
What a fantastic little transformation! I’m definitely a books girl and have three bookshelves full of them to testify to that. But I like adding in a few small, meaningful objects here and there: a candle with a smell that reminds me of my grandmother, a paper flower a student one made for me…little details and memories make such a difference.
Ahh what a great find! He really spruced it up! I took advantage of my hometown Goodwill in PA a few weeks ago – made off with a watch, a bag, and a little jadey green bowl – $3.99 each! The price was so right. I’m wearing the watch today and the bowl is sitting atop my own bookshelf. LOVE Goodwill. Love it.
Looking fabulous!!!

Brandi — I love that you love books! And the candle that reminds you of your grandmother is too sweet. I have little brass duck paperweight that used to sit on my grandfather’s desk. I’ll treasure it always : )
Natalie — I think I need to make a run to Goodwill today. If only the west coast selection was as old and storied as that of the east!
Love this!! What a great find! And love the bookends too Kate!
I’ve been thinking about doing a little dumpster diving at SF Goodwills for the perfect bar cart/tray/table, myself!
well both you AND eddie have good taste! You’re two of my favorite bloggers :)
Wonderful!!
amazing!!!!! i am looking for something JUST like this! so jealous!!
What a fabulous find – absolutely adore this bookcase – reminds me a bit of Billy Baldwin. And I definitely prefer a mix in an etagere type piece like this.
