How I love a spot of leopard! Animal prints are some of my favorite patterns and leopard specifically owns a large chunk of my heart. When used or worn tastefully (i.e. in small doses), leopard can make a perfectly chic statement without being garish. From the leopard pillows in Elsie de Wolfe’s Villa Trianon to the pair of spotted shorts in Peter Som’s recent collection, designers throughout the centuries have held a particular affection for the print. Robert Kime once said Parisian antique dealer Madeleine Castaing “pretty much had it all figured out—leopard carpet looks good anywhere.” I couldn’t agree more! In fact, Castaing’s country home at Leves is brimming with leopard and is one of my all time favorite interiors (get a glimpse below). Now my darling readers, do feast your eyes upon a selection of drool-worthy wild treats…

La Maison Fou — I’m a zebra fan too! You simply can’t go wrong. I still have dreams about Miles Redd’s zebra upholstered doors…sigh. XX Kate

I’m with you – I love leopard prints and they never go out of style for me! (My 6-year-old daughter would agree; she has a cheetah costume she wears year-round and has to be pried off for laundry day — early signs of style!)

Amanda—Your daughter sounds adorable! Clearly you have a style setter on your hands. XX Kate

Ooo I love that Crane stationary! I wanted to buy the grey and white zebra pattern when I saw it in the store but restrained myself because I already have so much stationary. Love this post!

A girl after my own heart– I have my leopard print ballet flats on right now! They are my favorite shoes and I completely agree that just a splash of animal print can really make an outfit chic (head-to-toe is another story!).
The Pottery Barn towels are my favorite. I don’t think I’ve ever seen leopard print towels, but I am sold.
Rachel says
Oooh!! Me too!
I love touches of leopard print (and zebra, and antelope…) in fashion and interiors! I am lucky enough to have a leopard print carpet runner in my hallway, and while I’m sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea – I love it. Plus, I think it’s the most forgiving carpet you can own!!
Great post – love all your picks. (Especially the shoes!)
Stevi says
Pretty sure I NEED those shoes. Love all the finds though!
jane says
Love the leopard print things! I totally want a scarf like the one Kate Moss is wearing now. Animal print in the right context is SO great!
the NEO-traditionalist says
Rachel —- May I move in with you? I would kill for a leopard runner! You’re too chic.
Looks as though the J.Crew ballet flats are a big hit! I can’t wait until it starts warming up and I can actually wear all my ballet flats again!

i’ve been looking for a demure little leopard clutch bag and that one is JUST perfect. but it’s also perfectly outside of my budgie!
the NEO-traditionalist says
Style Maniac — a Ralph Lauren leopard Powder Room?! Can I please be you?! That sounds spectacular. You must post pictures!
Cate Louise — So glad you bought the hat! Yay!!!! You are going to look MARVELOUS in it…I just know it!
Lauren — I’m with you! I was so in love with the clutch I just had to include it, but unfortunately, I’m also in no position to splurge on a $500 accessory at the moment. Besides, you have better more affordable finds on Dear Golden, who needs overpriced new things anyway? XX Kate
