If you’re like me, you’ve had this image of Rita Konig’s cozy Manhattan bedroom saved since the moment you laid eyes on it. You too were probably smitten by her girly D. Porthault linens, plaid blanket, fresh ranunculus and novels reclining on the window ledge. I think we’re all in agreement that it’s pretty much perfection. Well, have you ever seen the “before” shot below? I hadn’t until last night and it made me adore the room even more (you know how I love a good makevover…)! In Rita’s blog for T Magazine she explains how the installation of the light floral wallpaper actually opened the room up, while the former white walls only served to make the small space more claustrophobic. Brilliant. Rita Konig, I may just start a fan club.

I see your future room too Jane and it’s splendid. Take photos! I think I’m going to do a bit of sprucing to the apartment this weekend. It’s in desperate need of it…sigh.

Oh, I wish I had a good window in our bedroom to cozy up to like this! I’ve always been a big fan of putting beds by windows, but unfortunately it’s not possible in our current house. The arrangement would be really off and strange.
But maybe in my future house?? :-)
By the way – I nominated you for an award on my blog!

My first thought when I saw that room was “This home must be in England.” So naturally, I adore it. Absolutely charming.
Cheers,
