Those who know me know that I have a slight (okay, major) weakness for beautiful books. I just can’t help it—a beautifully designed book (especially a used copy with worn, loved pages and a light musty smell) simply makes me weak at the knees. When it comes to interiors I also love when books are used to make a statement such as in the handsome library of fashion designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka pictured above. The colorful bindings just pop off the dark shelves, do they not? Below is another beautiful shot of books from the couple’s Kentucky farmhouse, this time in the bright, country kitchen. The bindings here are haphazardly sorted by color which I appreciate—they flow without rigidly jumping from one shade to the next. To see a full tour of Badgley and Mischka’s home buy the September issue of Elle Decor or watch the slideshow HERE.

Strikes me as odd to see a veritable library in the kitchen, but I like it. Good post!
