I found this old Life Magazine at a flea market recently and couldn’t resist scooping it up. Isn’t the cover lovely? I think I might frame it. It was published during World War II on February 1, 2943 and is fascinating to flip through. Nearly every article and advertisement pertains to the war, a testament to its dominance of the American way of life at this period. The cover story is about a young American naval lieutenant on a date with a “pretty, wellborn, refugee French girl in Casablanca.” The story follows them during their strolling through the Medina and along the shore. The pictures are timeless and give you a peak of Morocco in the 1940’s. Enjoy.
