I’ve been debating on paint colors for our large living/dining room and have finally settled on pink. The shade, which I found at the local paint shop, is a dead ringer for Farrow & Ball’s Pink Ground, a pale warm pink with lots of yellow. My husband has concerns, but I keep assuring him that he’ll love it when all is said and done. These photos from Ben Pentreath’s old London sitting room helped me sell Simon on the idea. Isn’t the wall color handsome? With the right pieces, pink walls don’t have to be cutesy at all. Plus, its warm glow is universally flattering to all complexions (especially paired with some hygge candlelight). Wish me luck!

Great minds, Katie. We just painted our living room pink last month and have been loving it. Your husband will come around! xx

I am slowly coming around to pink after decades of hating it. I plan to paint my bedroom barrow and ball ‘setting plaster’.

Hallo! I’m taking a drastic plunge and repainting our old red dining room pink! I’m testing ‘Pink Ground’ but it seems much lighter than the photographs you posted above from Ben Pentreath’s sitting room. Is that just the lighting in the room you think? My dining room is very bright.
Katie Armour Taylor says
Sarah – Hope exciting! I’d guess it’s a question of lighting and the size of the room. It will seem more pink in a smaller room, less so in a larger brighter one. Hope this helps!
