Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawaii
New Yorkers should head to the New York Botanical Garden to see their new exhibit inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings of Hawaii. The show celebrates “the artist’s little-known depictions of the Hawaiian Islands—and the plants and landscapes that inspired them.” In keeping with the seventeen O’Keeffe Hawaii paintings on display, the garden conservatory has been transformed into a lush tropical flower show. I so wish I could visit! Below are two paintings by O’Keeffe featured in the exhibition—how gorgeous are those hibiscus? Open until October 28, 2018.
The Wicklewood Design Collection Pop-Up
Those of you in London should be sure to stop by the Wicklewood Design Collective pop-up in Chelsea. Open until July 3, the boutique is the mastermind of some of my favorite instagram gals. The beautifully curated sale includes pillows, artwork, glassware, and more. Plus, how good are those green striped walls?! I won’t be in London again until late July and am sad to miss it. The details: 123 Sydney Street, Chelsea, London SW3 6NR.
Antoinette Poisson for Gucci
One of my favorite French design studios, Antoinette Poisson, has collaborated with Gucci on fabrics for their 2019 Resort collection (that’s their print on the pink dress below!). The French company also designed the fabulous floor for Gucci’s new SoHo boutique on Wooster. I visit the Antoinette Poisson studio in Paris last year with my mom and aunt, and was so charmed by their talented team (especially their pet bunny, Pompon!). Someday, I hope to have an entire room covered in Antoinette Poisson domino papers—a girl can dream!
Splendours of the Subcontinent: A Prince’s Tour of India
Another London stop for those on this side of the pond. The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace just opened a new exhibition called Splendours of the Subcontinent. If you share my love of India it will be right up your alley. The show explores “the long-standing relationship between the British Crown and South Asia” and includes paintings, jewels, manuscripts, and more. I can’t wait to visit in July! Open until October 14, 2018.
Kate Schelter for Veronica Beard
One of my favorite artists, Kate Schelter (remember her fabulous Chelsea apartment and Cape Cod home?), has designed a dreamy floral print for fashion brand Veronica Beard. The watercolor pattern features the prettiest daisies and it’s no surprise the collaboration is selling out fast (the maxi dress is my personal fav). Shop Kate Schelter’s pieces for Veronica Beard here, here, and here .
Patrick Melrose
Looking for something new to watch? Simon and I just finished the Patrick Melrose miniseries and it was the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Admittedly, I bought Edward St Aubyn’s beloved novels years ago but never actually got around to reading them (tisk tisk), but now that I’ve seen the show I’m determined to dust them off. Along with the star-studded cast (Benedict was brilliant per usual), the series also has a phenomenal score, set design, and costumes (the colors!). It was both gut-wrenching and wonderfully funny–in other words, so perfectly human. As Simon told his parents last night on the phone, “It was brilliant—a bit like if Wes Anderson did a drug film.” Indeed.
Artist Kiata Olivia Mason
I stumbled upon the work of Australian painter Kiata Olivia Mason on instagram and am so glad I did. I especially love her vibrant tablescapes she paints (see below) with all their fabulous florals and linens. Isn’t her work lovely? I’ve added her name to my “artists I’d like to collect someday” list. I’d better start saving!
Have you seen a recent film, collaboration, or exhibition that you loved? Any exciting new happenings I’ve missed? Let me know in the comments below!

Katie–I feel like a bit of a stalker lately because I have been commenting so much, but your posts have been so good!
I know the curator of the Georgia O’Keeffe show and she is so smart–I know it is a beautiful and meaningful exhibition. Luckily for me, the exhibition will be eventually coming to Memphis to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, so I will be able to see it (I work across town at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens). So I absolutely can’t wait to see it! I am ordering the catalogue now.
Anyway, all this is to say, thank you for encouraging your readers to support museums by attending exhibitions. We need the support!

Julie – You’re so funny, not stalker-ish at all! So thankful for readers like you. That’s so wonderful the exhibit is heading to Memphis next, maybe I’ll be able to catch it there someday! Thank you for keeping museums alive, they are one of my greatest joys! xo
